History

The Laboratory of Biometrics and Digitized Clinical Posturology has been operating within the S.Croce and Carle Hospital since 1995.

From the outset he offered a Clinical Stability System for the diagnosis, control and recovery of balance disorders of various origins in collaboration especially with colleagues otolaryngologists and neurologists. Over the years, thanks to the scientific experience and in-depth research in this field and the parallel professional growth of the whole company, the laboratory has created a scientific space in the national scene related to disturbances of balance and posture and in the field of movement analysis.

This activity has aroused the interest of third parties which has translated into concrete aid for the expansion of services with the donation of new applications that allow the study of walking, of the foot, of the sitting position and of the spine, the latter without use of X-rays.

To date the laboratory, in addition to collaborating with national and foreign magazines, is a national reference point and not only. The Cuneo experience has involved universities such as the Sapienza University of Rome and Palermo, in the faculties of Medicine and Surgery to introduce the teaching of Clinical Digitized Biometry in their Masters Degrees in Posture and Postural Biomechanics.

The University of Chieti, in its degree course in physiotherapy, has established the same teaching for years now. In these universities, doctors, physiotherapists, podiatrists, orthopedic technicians and orthoptists are formed.

At this moment the clinical collaboration is three hundred and sixty degrees and involves general practitioners, specialist doctors, podiatrists, motor science graduates, bioengineers, orthopedic technicians, nurses, psychomotricists, speech therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, neurophysiology technicians, in short, all those they are interested in the sciences of posture and movement, not only of the company but extracomune, province and region.

For years the laboratory has been the provincial referent for Parkinson's disease dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of such patients. In 2011, at the invitation of the Piedmont region, it participated in drafting the Diagnostic Diagnostic Pathway (PDTA) together with other specialists in the region, for patients suffering from this recently revised and re-approved pathology.

The company structure is an actress of institutionalized pathways in PDTA that involve the diagnosis and treatment of: dizziness, diabetic foot, hydrocephalus and non-ataxias, scoliosis, developmental foot, hip and knee prosthesis.

The laboratory is registered by the S.I.A.M.O.C (Movement Analysis Clinic Society, http://www.siamoc.it/) between national and European laboratories for the study of movement.
